i totally ripped off a friend's (sarah valente) perfected homemade pizza crust. and its just so delicious that i'm not going to even try to mess with the recipe!!
whole wheat pizza crust
mix:
3 1/2 c. warm water
3 tsp. yeast
4 T sugar
1/2 c. olive oil
1 1/2 tsp. salt
add: 2 c. all purpose flour
add: 5 c. whole wheat flour
you won't be able to keep mixing after cup 4 or so...then just dump it on the counter and knead the rest of the flour into the dough. while you are kneading it...
add:
1 T oregano
1 T parsley
1/2 tsp. pepper
continue kneading until dough isn't too sticky. put into a greased bowl and cover. let it rise for one hour...punch it down...then let it rise for another hour.
after that...its ready to roll out for pizza crust! you can also bag it up for the freezer because it makes a ton!
after you roll it out and add sauce and toppings, bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 min until cooked!
it makes about 4 large pizzas depending on how thick you like your crust!
